Lori Benjamin is a freelance writer recently returned to her home state of Montana after spending a few decades roaming around Texas and the West. In addition to her work with Carpe Diem West, she writes for technology and marketing companies, mostly in the startup community. Lori grew up on a dryland farm in the Golden Triangle. She holds a lifelong interest in the politics of water and agriculture, and a fascination with how fierce independence and tight-knit community both seem so necessary for survival in the harsh landscapes of the West. Lori has an M.A. in creative writing from Purdue University and a B.A. in English from the University of Redlands. In her free time, she cooks, gardens, avoids bears and rattlesnakes, and indulges an obsession with Chopin Nocturnes.
