Marian Hubbard-Rice is the Water Quality Director for Salt Lake City Public Utilities. Her responsibilities include watershed protection, drinking water quality, stormwater management incorporating green infrastructure, and wastewater pretreatment. She appreciates a holistic watershed approach and incorporating social equity with watershed management. For Salt Lake City, this means starting in the headwaters to the Jordan River and finally the Great Salt Lake. She is proud to be part of a team that protects the majestic Wasatch Front Watershed, which provides high quality drinking water to over 349,000 people in the Salt Lake Valley. Before joining Salt Lake City, Marian was the Watershed Section Manager for Salt Lake County Watershed Planning & Restoration. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Portland State University and Masters of Public Administration in Natural Resource Management from University of Utah. She is completing a Ph.D. at the University of Utah focusing on the energy-water nexus and environmental justice.
