As a Sustainability advisor to business and public agencies, environmental program designer, strategic planner and stakeholder engagement expert, Rory is passionate about sustainability policy. At 8 she tried to have her dad arrested for littering. She is currently the Vice President of Product Development and Chief Sustainability Officer with Rev where she is leading the development of business products and services that focus on developing a “new normal” mindset for non-residential customers as they learn to identify and leverage the Sustainable Value within their organizations.
Rory spent almost 20 years for Santa Clara County and for StopWaste.org as a designer and director of business zero waste, toxics reduction and water and energy efficiency programs. In 2008 she started her own consulting firm.
Rory has been instrumental in establishing ground breaking industry standards, policies, assessments, partnerships and educational programs in collaboration with leading organizations such as Underwriter’s Laboratories (UL), The GreenBiz Group, B Lab, StopWaste.Org. and the Global Institute for Sustainability Ratings. She excels at empowering leaders to use social and environmental performance to improve their organizations and our world – taking pride in being a pragmatic advocate for sustainable business.
Rory holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Policy from Claremont Graduate University; a Certificate in Integrated Waste Management, an Executive Degree in Sustainable Business Management from the Presidio Graduate School and Bachelor’s Degrees in Sociology and Environmental Studies, and has been a Public Affairs Fellow with the CORO Foundation.
