Bi-Partisan Watershed Bill Introduced in US Senate

As the drought deepens and communities look around for solutions, Carpe Diem West is delighted to see the bi-partisan introduction of the S. 1780, the Restoring America’s Watersheds Act in the US Senate today.
Rival/Survival Reality TV stars, AKA Senator Martin Heinrich (D-NM) and Senator Jeff Flake (R-AZ), have teamed up to catalyze a new kind of watershed restoration that will help ensure water security by protecting headwaters forests.
The bill designates funding and fast-tracks the multi-benefit interventions already underway in Carpe Diem West’s Healthy Headwaters flagship communities.
We’re hoping the multi-partnership headwaters approach begins to get West-wide traction with this legislation, and we applaud this bi-partisan approach to the wicked problem of Western water security in the age of climate change.
