A little walk…

Mary Mitsos named President of National Forest Foundation

This past March at the Twelfth Annual Healthy Headwaters Convening in Aurora, Colorado, I had the pleasure of getting to know one of our team members a little more intimately. As the team strolled over to a casual  pre-convening dinner, Mary and I walked, talked and connected; both professionally and personally.

Mary has been an integral participant of Carpe Diem West’s Leadership team and along with her commitment to our mission here at Carpe Diem West – Smart Solutions for Water Security in our Communities. Up until this little walk, I really only knew Mary as a very committed person to our work. We crossed that “professional” line and really began to share our personal stories. A a individual, she is a super interesting, charismatic, and hysterically funny person to be around.

Little did I know I was walking with the soon to be President at National Forest Foundation. I am so excited for her, this organization and the great things they will do together. Best to you Mary Mitsos, I’m glad we utilized the time on our little walk to be human and connect. After all, isn’t that what it’s all about, connection?
